Energy Healing Session
What it is

The body, the energy, and the spirit.

Chinese Energetic Medicine sees a person in three aspects at once, what the old teachers called the three treasures.

1
The body
Sleep, pain, digestion, tension, the organ systems themselves.
2
The energy
The Qi moving through the body's channels, felt and moved directly.
3
The spirit
The Shen, the aliveness a person carries.

When the three are in balance, a person is well. When one of them is off, it pulls on the others, and that is where most trouble begins.

On the third level, feeling and body are not kept apart. Energy from unprocessed emotions can become compacted into the organs, and it can stay there for years, long after the mind has moved on. This medicine reaches into the held emotions, into the places a person has gone quiet, and it helps the aliveness come back. This is the oldest part of the medicine, and the reason it reaches the whole person, not just the body. Some would call this part spiritual healing.

It is never just one technique. Qi can be sent to a single point, drawn along a channel, gathered at an organ, or spread through a whole region. And it builds as much as it repairs, not only to help a struggling body but to keep a healthy one strong.

What it can support

Pain, sleep, stress, and a good deal more.

Whatever the trouble, it starts by finding the pattern underneath.

The session

What a session is like.

A first session runs about an hour and a half, to leave room for a full intake. After that, sessions are about an hour.

It opens with a careful read of where you are: what you say, and the state of your Qi, sensed over the body and around it, where it is stuck, where it is low, where it is doing too much. That is what shapes everything after.

Then the Qi is moved directly. Sometimes a hand rests lightly on the body; more often it stays an inch or two off it, since it is the Qi being reached, not the muscle. There are no needles and little or no physical handling, which is part of why this suits people who are in pain, worn thin, or wary of being touched. What comes next follows from what was found: freeing what is stuck, building what is depleted, and quieting what is overactive.

Then come easy practices to do between sessions: simple movement and breathing, chosen for your pattern.

What people notice in the room varies, and that part is better found than told. Some feel a great deal during the hour. Others feel little until the days after, in their sleep, their energy, or the thing that brought them in. Both are normal.

One session can help. But this is medicine that builds, and its true shape is a series of them: a handful to begin, then a rhythm that fits your life. The change is cumulative. A pattern that took years to settle is met over months, not in an afternoon.

Most people come as a course rather than a one-off. We will put one together that fits, a set of sessions at a pace that makes sense, and if you would rather plan ahead, we can arrange the course as a package. Or begin with a single visit and see how it sits.

Who you'll see

Your sessions are with Mike.

Mike Hall has spent close to thirty years in energy healing, and holds a doctorate in Chinese Energetic Medicine. The doctorate ran five years in the full Daoist system of the medicine. He also holds certifications in qigong, reiki, and tai chi, and the title of Lama of Buddhist Mysticism. He is a professional member of the National Qigong Association, and teaches it now as much as he practices it.

What that builds is a kind of seeing. Mike reads the body's energy the way iron filings reveal a magnet, the lines of force invisible but taking a shape he can feel. He calls it an observational medicine, more watching than doing.

Some come for a condition they are facing. Others come because something does not feel quite right, and they do not know what it is.

Through all of it, Mike guides rather than directs. The two of you are a team, finding the way back, to your health and to yourself. Read Mike's story

Alongside your care, never instead of it.

What we do here supports your health. It does not replace medical or mental-health care. If you are seeing a doctor, a specialist, or a therapist, stay with them.

People do come while managing serious or long-standing conditions, and that is welcome. We do not diagnose, and we do not treat disease. What we offer is support and care for the body, not a cure for anything.

And if things ever feel heavier than you can carry, please reach out, to a crisis line, a doctor, or someone you trust.

What's on

Classes and events.

The inner arts we teach, energetics and the moving and breathing practices, are a way to experience this art more deeply. A few are coming up; the full, live schedule is on the Events page.

Nothing on the calendar right now. New classes and events are added often, so check back soon.

Before you book

What people ask.

Do I need to believe in it for it to help?

No. Come curious or come skeptical; both are welcome. What helps is showing up and noticing what changes. For most people the question moves on its own, from whether it does anything to how.

How is this different from acupuncture?

They come from the same understanding of the body, the same channels and Qi. Acupuncture uses needles at set points. This moves the Qi directly, through energetic technique, and reaches past the body to the energy and the spirit where the needle does not. No needles here at all.

Do I have to do the practices between sessions?

They help. They are matched to your pattern, not generic exercises, and they carry the practice into the days between visits. People who keep them up tend to get more from it.

How many sessions before something changes?

Most people notice something in the first few, often in the thing they came in for, or in sleep, energy, or mood. The deeper, steadier change is cumulative, usually over a couple of months. This is steady medicine, not an instant fix.
